What is Tissue Culture

Tissue culture, also known as plant cell culture, is a method of propagating plants under sterile conditions in a nutrient medium. Small pieces of plant tissue, such as shoot tips, leaves or roots, are removed and cultured in an artificial medium. This medium contains all the nutrients the plants need to grow and thrive.

Challenges of tissue culture

Sensitivity: Because TC plants are grown under sterile conditions in the laboratory, they are initially more sensitive. Mishandling can lead to rapid plant deterioration, often the main cause of failure.

Initial investment: Especially for the first attempt, additional materials are required, which can quickly make the process expensive, apart from the plants themselves.

Our starter kit for a successful start: To help you get started with tissue culture, we have developed a starter kit that contains everything you need to successfully grow up to 12 plants. We have extensive experience in successful cultivation and have put together a detailed step-by-step guide for you. We have had particular success with the HESI fertilizer, which promotes plant growth and strength. We are happy to have HESI as a partner.
